l'uccello Pop up Stall for the Victorian Quilters

On saturday l'uccello had a pop up stall as part of the Victorian Quilters "Quilt in". We had a wonderful day meeting ladies from all over Victoria that are united by their love of patchwork and quilting. It was lovely to see everyone hand sewing and working on projects while sharing delicious cakes and drinking the obligitary cups of tea and coffee.
Such a wonderful buzz in the air!

During the day members where able to "show and tell" about some of the quilts that they had made, the artistry, craft and dedication that goes into making these works is evident and astounding. The ladies are also generous with their talent and time quilting for charity and donating their creations to hospitals and those in need.

The inspiring guest speaker was Di Ford, a maker of the most exquisite quilts and the author of 'Primarily Quilts... 19th Century Inspirations' published by quiltmania. Experiencing Di's quilts up close was a pleasure and it was lovely to hear her stories of how her works are created and what inspires her.

We had a lovely Saturday and hope our new friends will visit us soon.....
